One of the founding principles of this charity is to make sure that 100% of the money sponsors donate goes directly to the child they sponsor. The money is used to pay for food, shelter, medication and schooling. You may wonder how we pay for our overhead and administrative expenses. All the overhead and administrative expenses are paid by the husband and wife founders of this charity.

Joseph Kibur and Mahlet Zena who were born in Ethiopia founded this charity in 2002, after observing that people in general want to help those poor and desperate children they watch on television, but were held back by suspicion and uncertainty on whether their donation will end up helping the intended recipient. Stories of misuse and corruption regarding charities, especially those working in developing nations is rampant, where upto 50% of the charities budget could be spent on overhead and salaries. Unique Projects Foundation was created to allow people to help others in need with the knowledge that 100% of their donation is going to the intended recipient. That is a unique concept!
